Few names are as iconic or as revered in Australia’s food industry as Simon Johnson. An importer and purveyor of exceptional ingredients from around the country and the globe, Johnson – himself an ex-chef – opened his first store in Sydney’s Pyrmont in 1992. Simon Johnson is an Australian culinary pioneer: the first to introduce a fromagerie; the first with chef’s cooking demonstrations; the first to import fresh truffles; the first to offer luxury hampers and gourmet branded ranges, and is responsible for creating a quality food culture in Australia.
