A Starlight Story
An inspirational Starlight Story
Six-year-old North Shore resident Joseph was diagnosed with Neuroblastoma when he was two-years-old. Neuroblastoma is a form of cancer that occurs in infants and young children and causes changes in some functions of the brain. Joseph has now completed his treatment and is currently doing extremely well.
Joseph loves being active and his favorite sports are rugby, soccer and cricket. Joseph's Starlight Wish was to have an enclosed trampoline in the backyard so he can play with his younger brother and baby sister!
Joseph's wish was granted in August. Joseph's trampoline was delivered to the family and was hidden from
Joseph until he got home from school - his wish was revealed at a surprise party. Captain Starlight also made a special appearance at Joseph's party. Joseph also received a Nintendo Wii and games! "My favorite part of the day was playing running races with Captain Starlight and playing on the tramp with my friends," said six year-old Joseph.
"We are so grateful for Starlight. The wish experience was absolutely wonderful. To see the joy on our son’s face when he received his wish was overwhelming for my husband and I. To think of how sick our little boy was and to see him so happy was something we will never forget. What a wonderful resource to have for these very special children",
