AMP's Vision for a New Northbridge Plaza

AMP Capital Shopping Centres vision for vision for the new Northbridge Plaza is for a blend of shopping, living and leisure facilities in an aesthetically pleasing, convenient, family friendly and sustainable environment.

AMPCSC is working with Willoughby City Council and community representatives to develop a draft Master Plan for Northbridge Plaza and the Council car park. We hope that this process will result in plans for the shopping centre and Council car park that provide the following:

* Deliver everyone in the Northbridge community long overdue improvements to the present car park by creating a level, convenient facility. This can be achieved by placing the car parking underground allowing for additional uses above it and the addition of ‘quick shop’ spaces
* The new car parking facility would give priority to visitors with disabilities and prams.
* A greater variety of shops that serve changing community needs and make Northbridge Plaza a more convenient, friendly and safe place to shop without losing the “neighbourhood” atmosphere.
* Create a natural connection to the plaza and town centre without compromising pedestrian safety.
* Reinforce Eastern Valley Way as the principal entry and exit point for cars.
* Separate the heavy/loading vehicles dock from customer car parking and entry/exit points.
* Better traffic management solutions for neighbouring streets.
* More café style outlets and social meeting places to create a village ambience and family friendly atmosphere.
* The addition of high quality residences offering apartment style living.
* More accessible and useable spaces inside and outside Northbridge Plaza for community and leisure uses.
* An external façade that is complimentary and integrates with the surrounding shops and residences with the selection of finishes and internal design elements and landscaping that improves the outlook for boundary residents.
* A range of long term and sustainable environmental solutions including energy efficiency and better stormwater management.
